For a number of reasons, starting with OpenEdge 10.0A onward, the source code for the AppBuilder and a number of other development tools are no longer included with the installation media.
The ADE code was originally part of the Progress Open Source Software Exchange (POSSE) and governed by an open source license agreement. POSSE no longer exists. This ADE Source Code is still available under the terms of the Progress Community Code Share. The versions listed below can be downloaded from the Progress Community Codeshare. However, post-11.7.13 and -12.2.7, the code will only be available via github -

On the righthand side of the page there is a section "Releases", with a link there to the various versions -

- The source code is downloadable as a .zip or .tar file.
- Modification or customization of any components of the ADE - OpenEdge Development Tools Source Code is beyond the scope of Progress Technical Support services.
- Attached is a white paper posse_pbuild_utility.pdf, describing the PBUILD script used to build the ADE tools. This script, is found in the directory each ADE tools download: src/adebuild/pbuild
