Welcome to The Community, Progress Software’s online community! Progress is committed to making The Community a great place to meet and interact with other members around the world as well as with our staff.

As a member of The Community, you are required to adhere to this Netiquette, and are responsible for all activities and content you post and upload. These rules do not cover all possible scenarios or conduct that may apply to a person’s use of The Community. All members of The Community are expected to act in the spirit of this Netiquette. Also, all members of The Community acknowledge that these rules may change at any time and that they are responsible for knowing and complying with these rules as they may be amended.

In addition to respecting this Netiquette, you are responsible for adhering to all applicable local and national laws that pertain to your location.

The Community is your community. Help us to keep it informative, safe, friendly, fun and helpful.

  • Be polite and respectful in your posts, interactions and in your replies to other people especially when disagreeing with them or through heated discussions.
  • Please keep your posts or replies relevant to the subject of the discussion. It is normal for some topics to drift from the original topic. However, to ensure benefits for everyone, we encourage you to keep your postings as close to the subject as possible.
  • Be yourself. Impostors are not welcome.
  • Be honest about your sources. Cite the source of anything you post or upload, if it isn't your own original content.
  • Keep it clean. No profanity, obscenity, insulting, bigoted, racist or sexist comments please.
  • Search to see if a question you have has already been posted by somebody else.  Posting the same question repeatedly and starting multiple threads on the same subject can be confusing.
  • Be careful about sharing personal information with others online.
  • Report any kind of abuse you find in the site using the “Report Abuse” link.

  • Divert or change a thread for your own purposes. Instead, just start a new thread with the subject you want to discuss.
  • Post questions that are the same or similar to questions you have already posted.
  • Publish, post, distribute, or disseminate defamatory, obscene, or other unlawful material or discussion. This includes, but is not limited to, child pornography, bestiality, incest, illegal drugs and harassment.
  • Insult, threaten, victimize or intimidate anyone (or group of people) for any reason including on the basis of age, gender, disability, ethnicity, political opinion, sexual orientation, race or religion.
  • Incite other users to insult, threaten, victimize, or intimidate another person or group of people.
  • Harass, insult, tease, or correct other users about the spelling and grammar used in their posts. Not all members are English native speakers. Good or bad spelling and grammar isn't the point.
  • Post content depicting nudity of any sort, including full or partial photographic human nudity, or nudity in cartoons, fantasy art or manga.
  • Infringe the intellectual property of any third party or breach any obligation of confidentiality by your postings or uploads in The Community.
  • Link to websites that require payment to access information.
  • Post links to external sites that violate these rules.
