Nick Ellson (Customer) asked a question.
UDP Source NAT??
We are migrating from Citrix NetScaler ADC NS13.1 Build 59.22 to Progress Kemp LoadMaster 7.2.63.3.23e1735.RELEASE.
Our existing NetScaler supports UDP source NAT, with Use Source IP: NO configured on the production DNS UDP/53 service group. This configuration successfully load-balances UDP traffic to local and routed backend servers without requiring changes to backend default gateways.
We require equivalent UDP source NAT functionality on Kemp LoadMaster for DNS UDP/53 and Kerberos UDP/88.
the docs say that UDP vservers get “Force L4” which only supports source transparency.
anyone doing DNS load balancing?
Hello Nick,
Were you able to follow our article on DNS configuration? https://docs.progress.com/bundle/loadmaster-deployment-guide-dns-ltsf/page/Enable-Subnet-Originating-Requests-Globally.html
This article goes over the recommended global settings, as well as the creation of both TCP and UDP DNS virtual services.
Force Layer 4 should not be required in this case for the creation of the UDP DNS VIP.
Let me know your thoughts,
Thanks,
