Tim Einmahl (Customer) asked a question.

Development of Loadmaster

I know these topics were mentioned before, but as a KEMP/PROGRESS customer I am really annoyed about the current status of the Loadmaster.

- There hasn't been any reaction to feature requests published on https://kemp.ideas.aha.io for approximately 1 year now.

Why is nobody monitoring or commenting on these feature requests anymore?

- There hasn't been a larger feature release of LM for several years now, only minor features were implemented.

Why is that? Does KEMP/PROGRESS not care anymore?

- There had been a lot of security bugs of the same type over and over again.

Every time this happens we are told that the issues would have been fixed, but the almost identical issues appear again a short time later.

Fixing security bugs is a necessity and should in no way prevent further development, otherwise there is obviously a shortage of developers.

Meanwhile there is a demand for basic loadbalancer features like vendor agnostic ACME support, prioritizing EC over RSA certificates, selecting curves, PQC Hybrid Key Exchange etc.

    Hi Tim,

My name is David O'Connor and I'm a current Product Manager for Progress Kemp LoadMaster.

Thank you for being direct. Your concerns are fair, and I prefer to hear them from you than not at all. I can verify that we have an active roadmap on top of our efforts to stay as secure as possible.

If you'd like to have a 1:1 call to discuss roadmap and share your thoughts, I'll love to connect! Please feel free to reach out on dave.oconnor@progress.com.

    Kind Regards,
