Automate MFT 1.22 Is Here—More Powerful Automation, Stronger Security and Easier Configuration

We're excited to announce Progress Automate MFT 1.22, introducing new string function macros for advanced workflow automation, enhanced authentication options for MOVEit Transfer integrations, and usability improvements that make it easier to configure, secure, and manage file transfer operations.

What's New in Automate MFT 1.22

  • Substring Macros for Dynamic Workflows
    • Automate MFT now includes new LEFT, RIGHT, MID, and LEN function macros, allowing administrators to extract, manipulate, and measure text directly within workflows. These capabilities simplify the creation of dynamic file names, folder paths, email content, and other macro-driven automation scenarios while supporting nested macro expressions up to five levels deep.
  • TLS Client Certificate Authentication for MOVEit Transfer
    • MOVEit Transfer endpoints now support TLS client certificate authentication, providing additional flexibility and security when connecting to MOVEit environments. Administrators can use supported combinations of usernames, passwords, and client certificates to meet organizational security requirements.
  • Improved Tenant ID Visibility
    • The Tenant ID is now displayed directly within System > Tenant Settings, making it easier to locate the information required for API integrations, S3 OIDC configurations, and other connected services.
  • Enhanced PGP Key Import Compatibility
    • Automate MFT now more effectively recognizes valid OpenPGP public and private keys by identifying supported capabilities directly from the primary key, improving interoperability and simplifying encryption-related configuration tasks.

Fixes and Other Improvements

Automate MFT 1.22 also includes several reliability and usability improvements across task execution, scheduling, scripting, endpoint management, and MOVEit Automation migrations.

Updates include improved schedule execution reliability, enhanced command validation for transfer scripts, refined endpoint management behavior, Resource Center improvements, and fixes for PGP-related MOVEit Automation imports. These enhancements help deliver a more consistent and dependable automation experience.
