Modern Open Source UI Replacement for Automation under development

Hey everyone, I've been working on a project to build an entirely new and modern UI for Automation... Project: MAUI - adding features that have been missing - like custom task metadata, hierarchical folders for organizing tasks, fully customizable views and grid control; column selection, ordering, resizing, filtering and sorting. That is just the start. Going to be publishing it on GitHub soon - wanted to see what the community interest would be like. Screenshot attached. Appreciate any feedback or suggestions for things to include.

This version still leverages the native task/host editors; a subsequent release will look to replace those with modern equivalents where possible; obviously limited by what the APIs offer.

Project uses both the REST and COM APIs; can run standalone in Visual Studio or deployed to an IIS Server. Does not interfere with legacy UI.

Current Features and Progress

· Modern replacement UI for MOVEit Automation – cleaner navigation, improved usability, responsive layouts, and a more polished administrative experience.

· Unified Task Management – view, search, sort, filter, organize, and manage Automation tasks from a single modern grid.

· Advanced Task Search – search across task names, descriptions, and custom metadata for faster task discovery.

· Customizable Task Grid – choose which columns to display, reorder them, resize them, and preserve personal grid preferences.

· Expanded Task Visibility – optional columns for status, last run, last result, file count, transfer size, custom metadata, and audit information.

· Detailed Status Tooltips – hover over task status to immediately see the latest MOVEit result/error message.

· Modern Task Information Panel – combines native MOVEit task properties with MAUI-specific metadata and additional task information.

· Native Task Creation – create Traditional, Advanced, and Synchronization tasks directly from MAUI with duplicate-name checking, validation, and automatic naming options.

· Seamless Native Editor Integration – launch the existing MOVEit task editor directly from MAUI while preserving the modern MAUI workflow and branding.

· Per-Task Action Menu – contextual ellipsis menu provides quick access to Task Information, Run Task Now, Kill Task, Enable/Disable, Delete, Undo, and future activity/history views.

· Run Task Now – immediately start eligible tasks directly from the MAUI task grid.

· Kill Running Tasks – identify active task instances and safely terminate them with confirmation.

· Bulk Task Administration – enable, disable, or delete multiple tasks in a single operation.

· Safe Task Deletion – dependency checks help prevent deletion of tasks that are referenced by other Automation tasks.

· One-Level Task Undo – MAUI automatically captures the task configuration before opening the native editor, allowing users to restore their previous version.

· Per-User Undo History – each user maintains their own independent undo snapshot for a task without overwriting another user's recovery point.

· Multi-User Undo Protection – prevents an older undo snapshot from overwriting configuration changes subsequently made by another MAUI user.

· Custom Task Metadata – extend MOVEit tasks with MAUI-managed information such as references, notes, and other future metadata fields.

· Task Metadata Auditing – track who created and last modified MAUI-managed task information and when those changes occurred.

· Custom Task Folders – organize Automation tasks into a logical folder hierarchy without changing the underlying MOVEit task configuration.

· Permission-Safe Folder Management – folder deletion protects assignments for tasks that may exist but are not visible to the current user.

· Environment-Aware Metadata – separate MAUI metadata by Automation environment, allowing PROD, QA, DEV, or other independent Automation systems to safely use overlapping task IDs.

· HA / Failover Awareness – multiple Automation nodes can intentionally share the same MAUI environment metadata when they represent the same underlying Automation environment.

· Modern MOVEit Native Styling – custom styling brings native MOVEit editor pages visually closer to the MAUI experience while retaining the existing MOVEit editor functionality.

· Cached, Performance-Conscious Design – task, run, status, metadata, and grid information are retrieved and reused efficiently to avoid unnecessary API calls.

· Live Task Refresh – MAUI automatically refreshes task status and operational information so changes made inside or outside MAUI quickly appear in the interface.

· Extensible Architecture – built to support new features
