Peggy Zhu (Customer) asked a question.
Hi everyone,
We have a large number of FAQs across our website, and we'd like customers to be able to find them easily using the site search.
At the moment, our search results don't appear to recognise individual FAQ questions. Instead, users only see the page title, making it difficult to know which FAQ contains the information they're looking for. We also have some FAQ questions that are reused across multiple pages.
Ideally, we'd like the search experience to work as follows:
- Individual FAQ questions are indexed and displayed in the search results.
- Users can search for an FAQ question and see it directly in the results.
- Users can click on the FAQ question from the search results.
- The click takes users to the page containing that FAQ.
- If the same FAQ exists on multiple pages, we'd like to be able to specify a preferred destination page.
Is this possible to achieve with Sitefinity Search, or is there a limitation that prevents FAQ items from being indexed and displayed individually?
If this is supported, are there any recommended approaches or best practices for configuring the search index and search results to achieve this?
Environment Details:
- Product Version: 15.4
- Build Version: 15.4.8625.0
- Product File Version: 15.4.8625.0
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! 😀
Are you using the Sitefintiy content type "Lists" this is often used for FAQs where you have a "Title" -> question and the "Content" -> Answer. This would meet your request. If you are just putting FAQs in a content block on a page you won't have the individual questions like you want.
