We’re excited to announce the release of WS_FTP Professional 13.0, bringing important security, compatibility, and documentation enhancements designed to deliver a more modern and dependable file transfer experience.
Stronger security with OpenSSL 3.x and FIPS support
WS_FTP Professional now includes OpenSSL 3.x, replacing the previous OpenSSL 1.0.2 implementation and aligning the product with current security standards.
This release also introduces support for FIPS mode through a FIPS-approved OpenSSL module, helping organizations meet evolving compliance and regulatory requirements with greater confidence.
Expanded support for modern SSH host key and MAC algorithms
With OpenSSL 3.x, WS_FTP Professional now supports additional modern SSH host key and message authentication code (MAC) algorithms, improving interoperability with current security environments.
These algorithms are enabled by default for both new installations and upgrades, and they remain fully configurable through the SSH options. This ensures administrators can take advantage of stronger defaults while maintaining flexibility for their file transfer workflows.
