How to change the “Root” breadcrumb URL to “/” instead of “/home”?
Hi everyone,
We’re currently using Sitefinity product version 15.4
- Build version: 15.4.8625.0
- Product file version: 15.4.8625.0
We’ve followed the recommended steps to configure the homepage redirect:
- Navigate to Administration > Settings > Advanced > Pages
- Enable “If the home URL will redirect permanently to the site root”
- Restart the application
However, in the breadcrumb, the Root item still links to /home
Is there a way to change the default Root breadcrumb URL so that it points to / rather than /home?
Ideally, we’d like the breadcrumb root to always link to the site root URL.
Any guidance or best practices would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!😊

The breadcrumb widget works with pages and pages have URLs.
So by design, the widget renders page URLs and it doesn't take the configuration of step 2 into account.
You could extend the widget behaviour yourself, the source-code can be found here:
