Sitefinity Upgrade & Testing Agents: Upgrade and Test your project with the help of AI

Hi everyone,

Progress Sitefinity Upgrade & Testing Agents are now available—and we’d like to share them with you.

Introducing: Sitefinity Upgrade & Testing Agents

This AI-powered toolkit handles key parts of the upgrade process, so teams can move forward with clarity and confidence.

Here’s what it does:

  • Generates meaningful tests for your site
  • Runs the upgrade to a newer Sitefinity version
  • Validates the result by executing those tests
  • Identifies and fixes breaking changes and runtime issues

The agents work together as a coordinated workflow, progressing each step with minimal input while keeping everything visible and under your control.

Why It Matters

  • More predictable upgrades
  • Early detection of issues through automated validation
  • Higher confidence in release readiness
  • Less disruption to your existing workflow

What Early Adopters Are Saying

“The Sitefinity team looked at the testing and upgrade workflow—the thing nobody puts on a features page—and decided it was worth solving.”

In a recent upgrade from Sitefinity 13.3 to 15.4, SIILI generated 76 tests, completed the upgrade in under 1 hour and cut total effort by half.

“The upgrade project wasn’t just successful it was a glimpse into how future platform maintenance will be done.”

@Peter Filipov (Progress Software) this is for SURE a better way to go than the previous upgrade CLI, but "GitHub Copilot PRO subscription or higher" is that just a typo, why can't we use a Codex\CC sub directly with the MCP?

  • Peter Filipov (Progress Software)

Hi Steve, we will follow up on this question. The team is evaluating how this could be done.

Thanks, here's how laravel does it (https://laravel.com/docs/13.x/upgrade#upgrade-13.0) works on any LLM in whatever harness they have, it works well. It's just Github ganked everyone into per token pricing, not that I dont still HAVE the $10 plan for other things, but its not going to go far vs one of the other real plans from Anthropic or OpenAI directly.
