Progress Automate MFT 1.12 is here: smarter security, smoother automation

Progress Automate MFT 1.12 makes it easier to manage access, connect identity systems, and run file-transfer automations more reliably—especially at scale. Check out the quick highlights below.

Release highlights

  • Enhanced role-based access control (RBAC): Create custom roles and apply permissions at the folder/library level.
  • Multiple identity providers per tenant: Support more flexible single sign-on across domains and business units.
  • Collect only new files: Reduce reprocessing by transferring only files updated since the last successful run.
  • Concurrent task run protection: Prevent overlapping runs of the same task to avoid duplicate processing.
  • Faster troubleshooting: Jump from task activity directly into the most relevant reports.

What’s new

  • Enhanced RBAC for more precise control. Create custom roles, assign multiple roles per user, and set permissions by folder and library—so access stays tight and easy to manage.
  • Multiple identity providers in one tenant. Register more than one identity provider per tenant to support flexible SSO across domains or business units.
  • Collect only new files (opt-in). Configure Source steps to transfer only files newer than the last successful run to reduce duplicates and reprocessing.
  • Protection against overlapping task runs. Enable a task option that blocks concurrent runs of the same task to help prevent duplicate transfers.
  • Contextual report navigation from task activity. Use the Activity panel’s shortcut menu to jump straight to task run details and file activity reports.

Getting started

  • If you manage access: review your current roles and consider where folder/library-level permissions will simplify administration.
  • If you use SSO: add any additional identity providers needed for your organization’s structure.
  • If you run recurring tasks: enable Collect only new files where you want incremental transfers, and enable concurrent run protection for tasks that must never overlap.
  • Explore the Activity panel’s report shortcuts the next time you troubleshoot a run.

We’d love your feedback on 1.12. Try the update and tell us what you’d like to see next—especially around permissions, identity management, and task reliability.
