Re: KB article: "Deploying one ABL service breaks another service running in the same PAS instance"

I was a bit shocked when reading this article from today's PANS. You can't deploy two services in one PAS instance if they reference the same class, or two different classes with the same name?

Worse yet is the proposed resolution:

1) Rename the class on one of the projects to ensure unique class names across all deployed services.

2) Re-map all service methods after the class rename.

3) Regenerate the WAR files and redeploy both services.

Who is going to rename a class and refactor all the code that references it? That could be a huge amount of work. And if you use third-party libraries, it isn't even an option. If I encountered this issue I would split the services into separate instances while I wait for a fix. Not ideal either, but better than a rushed refactoring.

I hope this bug is high in the priority list.

If I read the kbase correctly, this is an issue for the rest transport only. Which, while lowering the impact of the issue, at least means it does not apply to all services.
