Milan Kralevich (Customer) asked a question.

What is the procedure for determining the number of user connections within a production PASOE environment?

Hello!

How do I determine the required number of licenses for PAS for OpenEdge?

What methods of monitoring the number of user connections to the PAS for OpenEdge system are provided for correct licensing?

Is it acceptable to use the localhost-access.YYYY-MM-DD.log file to count the number of connections from the purpose of proper licensing? If so, how can this be done?

Are there automated tools for analyzing the localhost-access.YYYY-MM-DD.log log file?

We would be grateful for detailed explanations and recommendations on these issues.

This is more a licensing question.

Please contact your Progress Account Manager to determine the correct user license.

This is a licensing question. It depends on things like version,, license model, contract, etc. So I agree it should be directed to the appropriate party (e.g. account manager, software vendor, reseller), whoever that may be.

These are product questions, and it is valid to ask them here. As far as I am aware, the answer is "none".

Thank you all for the answers. Licensing issues are not my primary responsibility. I am more responsible for the client's technical problems. But here I asked this question to find a quick solution to the question from the client. I will pass on your answers to the client. Beyond that is his responsibility. Although I was hoping for a more transparent and understandable licensing policy.

I certainly understand the need, and you are not alone in your hopes. Unfortunately, OpenEdge licensing is very murky at the best of times.
