Unzipping .gz files
We are going to be receiving files with .gz on the end. I can unzip the file using a command prompt win unzip however it makes it difficult to purge the zip files since there are over 1000 files. I am able to use the unzip advance script which works but it gives the file name atc####.csv. So it is not keeping the original name. Anyone have an idea on how to keep the original csv name?
Thank You,
Sean Smith
@Sean Smith (Customer) Hi Sean, While using Unzip advanced, in the successive FOR loop, you can upload the unzipped contents to destination and rename the files.

Hi Samik, thank you for your response. When I use unzip advance and origname, I get files that either are not readable or onlyname they are readable they are not name correctly. here is my configuration.
Thank You,

Can you share what you have the parameters set to?
Also, if you click the cog on the task to get the properties, what do you have set to cache settings under advanced?
@Sean Smith (Customer) Please edit the task and set the cache Files to use Original names.
Refer KB https://docs.progress.com/bundle/moveit-automation-web-admin-help-2025/page/Task-Settings-Advanced-Info.html
Let me know if that helps.
Thanks,
Samik
Hi Richard and Samik, I changed the cache files to use original names. I have 2 tasks setup, one which uses the unzip advanced and one which says to expand zip files. Both appear to unzip the CSV file but everything is garbage. I am working on getting screen shots but just thought of something else to try. I will keep you posted.
Thank You,

Any luck @Sean Smith (Customer) ?
Hi Richard. I can get screen shots but I have to erase all of our server names etc. Here is my Winzip command: C:\Program Files\WinZip\wzunzip.exe \\<servername>\it_mops_prod\hostjobs\tmp\temp\temp*.gz \\<servername>\it_mops_prod\hostjobs\tmp\temp\unziptst\[origname]
and I was able to turn on cache file names is user original names.
This still causes me issue Tuesday night I almost ran out of space because of the expand in the transfer. I am going to start over and see what is going on. It appears that my setup is wrong for this process.
Thank you for your help
