Progress® MarkLogic® Server 12.0.1 is Now Available

We are excited to announce the release of MarkLogic Server 12.0.1, available as of December 4, 2025. This patch update for the MarkLogic 12.0 innovation release includes important bug fixes as well as enhancements for AWS deployments. Thank you to our customers for providing valuable feedback that helped us deliver this update!

What’s New in 12.0.1

Cluster Commit Timestamp Fix

Resolved an issue where commit and non-blocking timestamps could be invalid when new hosts joined a cluster.

Installation Behavior Change

On RHEL 8 and RHEL 9, MarkLogic no longer starts automatically after RPM installation. You must start MarkLogic manually as per the standard procedure.

Additional AWS Instance Types Supported

MarkLogic now supports new AWS instance types: m8a, m8i, m8i-flex, c8i, c8i-flex, r8a, r8i, r8i-flex.

CloudFormation Template Python Upgrade

The Python version used by AWS Lambda functions in the MarkLogic CloudFormation template has been upgraded from 3.9 to 3.13.

Note: Python 3.9 will be deprecated on December 15, 2025. Existing clusters created with earlier templates must patch Lambda functions or redeploy.

For patching instructions, see the KB article: Mitigating Certifi and urllib3 Vulnerabilities.

Optic API Improvements

Fixed issue with .annTopK for vector similarity search where query vector changes did not immediately update results.

Bound vector parameters passed to /v1/rows are now correctly handled as typed values.
