Confirm that upgrading our Sitefinity 14.4 site to 15.4 in MVC mode will not limit our ability to add .NET Core Renderer support later
We have a licensed Sitefinity 14.4 CMS site running in MVC mode with extensive custom .NET Framework 4.8 widgets and other custom code. We’d like to upgrade the CMS to Sitefinity 15.4 LTS, but for now, we don’t plan to add the .NET Core Renderer or migrate any widgets.
From the 15.4 documentation, it appears that the MVC mode is still fully supported and does not require the Renderer. Later, we plan to add the Renderer and begin gradually migrating pages and widgets to ASP.NET Core.
Can you confirm that this is a viable and supported scenario—upgrading directly from 14.4 to 15.4 while continuing to use our existing MVC widgets in .NET Framework?
You are correct with the scenario outlined.
