Rab Khan (Customer) asked a question.

I am upgrading from Sitefinity 14.4 to 15.1. I am having trouble updating Microsoft.Extensions.DependencyInjection Nuget to newer version

While upgrading from Sitefinity 14.4 to 15.1, for Microsoft.Extensions.DependencyInjection Nuget there are newer versions available from 6.x.x through 8.xx but any version greater than 5.x.x. throws the following error in the screen when I try to access any page on /sitefinity Admin. Nuget 5.x.x and lower versions are deprecated and I must upgrade to a newer version.

Microsoft.Extensions.DependencyInjection error

    Hello Rab,

Sitefinity requires version 5.0.0 of the Microsoft.Extensions.DependencyInjection package. Manually upgrading packages is not supported as Sitefinity needs the specific package versions in order to operate flawlessly.

A similar topic has been covered in the following knowledge base article: https://community.progress.com/s/article/When-accessing-the-backend-in-the-new-interface-there-is-an-error-on-some-of-the-web-services

Please make sure to downgrade the Microsoft.Extensions.DependencyInjection package.

Thank you for clearing that up. I don't feel super excited about having a deprecated version of a Nuget in our application, while we are investing so much time upgrading to newer Sitefinity 15.xx version . Is there a fix in the pipeline for this?
