Upgrading the default AdminApp folder and its package for security code scanning alert

Recently, we have set the code scanning alert for our website github repository. Most of them is from the AdminApp side. Is it possible to upgrade the package in any way ? How do we handle these alerts and Is it safe to upgrade ?

The following are the sample alerts,

The AdminApp cannot be updated independent of the rest of the system. When you update Sitefinity to a newer version it could include AdminApp updates. please follow the standard upgrade procedures outlined in this article: Sitefinity application upgrade process.

In general the dependencies in the AdminApp cannot be upgraded (or not recommended) outside of the Sitefinity application upgrade process. To ensure you have the latest security patches and AdminApp upgrade to the latest version of Sitefinity, if there are upgrades to the AdminApp it will happen during the nuget installation.

  • Will i have any impact to my existing Sitefinity pages and its widgets when instaill the Progress.Sitefinity.AppAdmin nuget ?

Are you referring this nuget for AdminApp ?Progress.Sitefinity.AdminApp

  • ok, thank you. On a different note, i happened to see a folder named SF_Widget in our current solution. Is it something similar to AdminApp or a default app provided by sitefinity to start with ?

This is not a folder that comes with the app setup. Could be this is where someone has decided to keep custom widgets. This would lead me to believe they are WebForms widgets since MVC widgets expect to be in a certain folder structure.
