Murat Tasci (MagiClick) asked a question.
Failed scheduled tasks after upgrade to v15.1
I have upgraded a Sitefinty site which runs v13.1.7421.0 to v15.1.8323.0. Everything works fine but below 2 scheduled tasks apear failed. How do I fix this problem?
Btw I already tried below solutions but didn't work.
Hi Murat,
Since the steps from the KB didn't help, can you check what the error message is and if it is the same as in the KB article:
"Unable to resolve task. Exception: Type "Telerik.Sitefinity.Authentication.IdentityServer.Data.TransientDataCleanupTask" cannot be resolved."
You can check this by hovering over the question mark next to the Failed status.
It could be a different error message and a different issue on your side.
Also, did you restart the site after you deleted the scheduled task, as this step is often missed but can be crucial for resolving such issues.

Sabrie
Hi Sabrie,
Here are the messages:
Telerik.Sitefinity.Authentication.IdentityServer.Data.TransientDataCleanupTask: Unable to resolve task. Exception: Type "Telerik.Sitefinity.Authentication.IdentityServer.Data.TransientDataCleanupTask" cannot be resolved.
WorkflowCallTask: Invalid workflow operation
If by "restarting the site" you mean iisreset or recycling the application pool, yes I have done that.
Regards.
Hi Murat,
The error message is the same as in the KB.
It is strange that deleting the task from the backend UI didn't solve the issue.
Telerik.Sitefinity.Authentication.Data.TransientDataCleanupTask
This is a task that clears temporary login data and it comes out of the box as part of the default Authentication module. After you delete it the system should create a new one.
It seems you manage to successfully delete the task from the backend UI, then you restart the application pool and the system creates a new task but it fails again.
You have also uninstalled and installed again the Scheduling module but the issue still persists.
It is difficult to say what is causing the issue.
It sounds like an issue with the Authentication module or maybe there is dependency on another module that it is disabled on your side.
Or maybe some upgrade scripts failed.
I would suggest you open a support ticket where they can work with you and check the issue in more details.
What you can try before that is deleting the task from the database - I would have tried that as well - and then restart the application pool.

Sabrie
Hi Sabrie,
I tried to remove all rows from the sf_scheduled_tasks table and then restarted the site. Sitefinity automatically created rows except for 2 which failed. I will create a ticket. Thanks for your support.
Regards.
Update:
I have contacted with the Sitefinity Support. Here is what they said:
Then I checked scheduled publish and unpublish as they said. WorkflowCallTask has created and removed right after scheduled operation has completed.
