Retirement of specific products from the Knowledge Base

Hello my Community!

As you may know, Progress periodically retires or divests certain products in its portfolio. In an effort to keep our Community data focused on our current products, on May 31st, we'll be archiving Knowledge Base articles for the following products:

  • Savvion
  • Rollbase
  • Progress Control Tower
  • DataXtend CE
  • Shadow

If you have any interest in retaining information about these products, it's recommended that you download the Progress Knowledge Base (ProKB).

ProKB is a Windows-based, OpenEdge application that allows you to browse a snapshot of the Progress Knowledge Base offline. It can be freely downloaded and installed on your computer. It includes an OpenEdge run-time only license, full GUI functionality and a local database containing the entire knowledge base as it was on the date it was downloaded.

This is a standalone application and does not require that you have any other Progress products or licenses installed. ProKB is updated daily with the latest knowledge base articles and can be downloaded here.

If you choose to download a snapshot of the Knowledge Base to retain information about the above products, please be sure to save any new ProKB files separately, and not overwrite your original file.

Thank you, as always, for being a Community member. We hope this makes your content searches all the more relevant for your current needs.

I was not here in, what I'll call, the Shadow Days, but I found this on Google. 2012... ahh, those were the days.

      • Tom Bascom (White Star Software LLC)

Well that explains a bit about why I don't remember much of anything about that. Thanks!
