Snmp OID not found for available memory
I would like to know the OID value used in memory utilization.
I couldn't find the actual usage in the usage of hrStorageUsed.
Even if I filtered using the three words mem, free, and ram, I couldn't find any available memory information.
How do I find the available memory OID?
This is an SNMP table called 'hrStorageTable.' Within the table, you'll see many values populate. To find memory, using your screenshot, look for instance 1 on the other values in the table for this system. Note, instance IDs can and likely will be different across different systems. There is not a direct "available memory" object ID here, we need to grab a few values and throw the proper math at them.
1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.4 hrStorageAllocationUnits
1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5 hrStorageSize
1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6 hrStorageUsed
1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.1 hrStorageTypes (tells you if it's memory, disk, etc.)
(StorageSize-StorageUsed)*StorageAllocation = MB left
StorageSize*StorageAllocation = Total size
StorageUsed*StorageAllocation = Storage Used
(StorageUsed/StorageSize)*100 = Percent usage
I would love to know exactly why you need these OIDs, given WhatsUp Gold collects this by default with the built-in "Memory Utilization" monitor. Also, your screenshot seems to be showing our old SNMP MIB Walker, we've greatly enhanced it and I'd suggest upgrading to the latest release. More information on releases can be found here: https://whatsupgold.com/lifecycle.
I hope this information helps!
