James Palmer (Vertu Motors PLC) asked a question.
How to update Webspeed Messenger?
How does one go about patching the Webspeed Messenger? The version on the ESD is just the base 11.7.0 and we want to get it to 11.7.12. I can't see a download for the Messenger specifically and I don't want to have to deploy the full installer on all the webservers.
On Windows the Messenger Process is in %DLC%\bin\cgiip.exe and updated with a service pack.
Thanks Mike. So can I copy the files from a patched "full" install to the webserver without running the service pack proinst?
Pre PASOE when I was still using historic WebSpeed, that's what I always did.
Thanks Mike. Appreciate the help. PASOE is on the to-do list.
Assuming your platform is windows and are using cgiip.exe as the messenger. IIS and the "webpool" does some funky things with comparmentalisation AFAIK, so remember to bounce the webserver accordingly. Definitely if it's not the .exe messenger (my condolences), you'll need to reboot to unload that .dll.
