Happy CVP-ing!
Hi.
I tried to submit to CVP, but was rejected due "CVP program is a private program open to OE customers with a valid company email address". What policy is for registering to CVP regarding private persons? Is it mean, that CVP members can be only company representatives? How about, if I change my job? Is it mean, that on each job change I need reregister here, and lose whole my history?
@Peter Judge (Consultingwerk) did you reregister in Progress community, when moved from Progress corp. to Consultingwerk ? ;-)
BTW, email, which I used to register is valid as my personal company email https://rekvizitai.vz.lt/imone/progressio/ . ;-)
BR
Hi Saulius! Let me tag @Srinivasarao Kommineny (Progress Software) and @Rob Straight (Progress Software) from the OpenEdge CVP to see if they can give you the best answers.
Regarding moving jobs, you're correct. Currently your account resets. We have an open request in our Community Ideas portal that asks for this functionality to be adjusted to let you carry over your account content. Click on over and give it a vote. We use this list to assess what issues we look to address each quarter, and votes really count.
BR,
Nichol
We have a vetting process to determine if a request to join our CVP is from a valid customer, which includes review of the email address. For the vast majority of registration requests, the corporate email address is sufficient to establish eligibility. In the small number of cases where the email address is ambiguous (for example, gmail.com), we inform the person requesting access to open the door for further clarification. In this particular case, the customer SEB is well known, an SEB email address is preferred, but barring that, we will accept the registration request.
As far as changing jobs, if your new position continues to be with OpenEdge then we encourage you to register with your new company email address. Nothing relating to your previous registration is "lost".
Thanks!
@Rob Straight (Progress Software) Quick correction. The topics you were following, as well as areas you were subscribed/members of do reset. For example, if you check in your profile, you'll see several posts you've interacted with as a sort of history so you can find them again easily. When you register with your new email address, that goes away. So do any points / levels you've earned. This has come up in conversation with our user/partner advisory board, so it's on our radar. It may be a system limitation, but we need that feature request to bubble up in our quarterly planning to dig deeper. I recommend that everyone who has a concern about this go in and upvote it. 👍
Exactly this case. My first "reregistration" was in 2018, when I move from SEB to Baltic Amadeus. Then I find, that change my email in my Progress community account take more then month, because (as I understand) email itself is something like primary key. Finally, they fix issue, but during this month I was lost in community, because emails goes to my previous corporate email, which was not accessible by me. At 2020 I switch to Luminor bank (another Progress corp. client). Then I create new account "sakarauskas_luminor" (or something like that), to have option manage license/download updates (for serial numbers you need company based account). But participating in community forums with different accounts, makes some inconvenience...
Anyway, thank you for clarifications.
I voted too on https://progress-community.ideas.aha.io/ideas/PCOM-I-44 . ;-)
@Saulius Sakarauskas (SEB bank) Indeed I did have to re-register.
@Nichol Goldstein (Progress) Voted :)
