Angel Tsvetkov (Progress Software) asked a question.

What's your experience with Failover? Do you have it? How you use it?

Failover is an instrumental part of the business continuity plan of each business-critical application.

  • Do you have a Failover in place?
  • Do you have automatic Failover, which switches the traffic to the region B in case of any outages or switches the traffic manually?
  • What's your tolerance for downtime in case of a major outage based on your experience?

As of my experience, I like more AWS because of the follownig reasons.

    1) It has data centers in almost every region.

    2) I wanted to work with AWS Lambda and Node.js and it has the best support of it. The architecture AWS Lambda is called either a Serverless Computing or Function as a Service. It’s groundbreaking technology because of the lack of servers.

    3) There is no failover in place and no automatic failover.

    4) There is no downtime.

Thank you, for your comment. I am also a fan of AWS Lambda.

How about your Sitefinity instances? Do you have or plan to have a Failover for them?

Did you try to extend Sitefinity with an external Lambda functions?
