DHCP Scope full monitor (Windows only, SNMP)
[Imported from community.whatsupgold.com/library. Contributor: Linwood Ferguson. See attached PDF for full details.]
Active monitor which polls all scopes on windows servers and reports if they are getting full. The result (which is available in %ActiveMonitor.Payload will show each scope's current size and in use. The limits as coded are that it alarms if you are EITHER under 10% free or 10 IP's, but you can change that at the top of the code.
not sure why I forgot the SNMP part of this... but I agree.
I have used this on newer versions of WUG. I had an issue because I had some scopes that automatically and new ranges when the get full. other than that it work fine for me.
This no longer works in server 2012 or newer.
Does anyone have an updated monitor?
Not surprising since Microsoft has been deprecating SNMP since Server 2012, they want you to use WMI. I will dig around to see if there is a powershell or vbscript that uses WMI.
On the new Windows Server OS's just use the PowerShell cmdlet
"Get-DhcpServerv4ScopeStatistics"
PS C:\Get-DhcpServerv4ScopeStatistics
ScopeId Free InUse PercentInUse Resrvd Pending
