The following is the URL syntax for the APSV transport used by the Sonic ESB Native Adapter, the Java Open Client and the .NET Open Client to connect to a Pacific AppServer (PAS) for OpenEdge instance:

Syntax
scheme://[username:passphrase@]host:port/[web-app-name/]apsv

scheme
Specifies either HTTP or HTTPS.

[username:passphrase@]
Specifies the user login credentials required to connect to the specified OE ABL Web application on the PAS for OpenEdge instance, according to the authentication model configured for the Web application. If the authentication model is Anonymous, no user credentials are required. If the model is HTTP Basic Authentication, you must provide a valid username (username) and password (passphrase) known to the user account systems configured for the Web application and its APSV transport.

Note: The APSV transport does not support HTTP Forms authentication.

host
Specifies the name or domain of the PAS for OpenEdge host.

port
Specifies the port for the host connection. Typically, HTTP uses 8810 and HTTPS uses 8811.

[web-app-name/]apsv
Specifies the OE ABL Web application and ABL client (or Open Client) transport (apsv) to connect with, where web-app-name is the name of an OE ABL Web application other than the default (oeabl.war). If no web-app-name is specified, then a connection to the default ROOT OE ABL Web application is made.

For example from a .NET Open Client the connection would be as follows:

// Create connection object to Pacific AppServer instance
Connection myConn;
myConn = new Connection("http://localhost:8810/apsv"", "", "", "");

// Set Session model for state-free
myConn.SessionModel = 1;

   // Make the connection
OpenAppObject openAO;
openAO = new OpenAppObject(myConn, "");

   // Disconnect from the Pacific AppServer
openAO.Dispose();
myConn.ReleaseConnection();

For example in the case of the Sonic ESB Native Adapter:

Specify http://localhost:8810/apsv for the AppServer URL.
Select state-free for a session-free connection or another mode for a session-managed connection.
