SMTP timeout error

  • Did we have any changes in SMTP?

    I am seeing below error when testing the SMTP setup

    Sending test message to test@yahoo.com
    {mail.smtp.port=25,
    mail.smtp.user=email address,
    mail.transport.protocol=smtp,
    mail.smtp.auth=true,
    mail.smtp.host=mail.domainname.com,
    mail.smtp.timeout=5000,
    mail.smtp.connectiontimeout=5000}
    Error:

    javax.mail.MessagingException: Exception reading response; nested exception is: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out

  • Please try with the following details. Also, provide the valid yahoo email id & password.

    mail.smtp.port=465,

    mail.smtp.host=smtp.mail.yahoo.com,

    mail.smtp.ssl.enable=true,

    Thanks

  • I am not using with yahoo. I am using with my company domain.

    My company email is hosted on bluehost.

  • Do we know whats happening

  • Did you have change releated to timeout which is impacting mailing functionality? Its happening since last few days

  • Are you using www.rollbase.com or Rollbase private cloud?

    Thanks

    Srinivas

  • I am using rollbase.com. Until July 18 it was working.  On july 21st it i don't see email going out. Some chages from rollbase went between 18th and 21st July which broker the functionality. We didn't make changes since last 1 month.

  • Our last update was on July 09th. After that, we did not change anything.

    Thanks

    Srinivas

  • Can you check if the email server setting working for port 25 with your company email id/password? It stopped working for us.

    Please call me if required at 201-780-3691

  • Can you check with any other generic client and confirm that you are able to connect successfully.

    Thanks

    Srinivas

  • I am having the same issue for all the zones. I can show you if you want.

    Can you also check if there was any changes in timeout setting?

  • HI Anurag,

    Can you please log a support ticket to further investigate on this issue?

    Regards,

    Mani.

  • Hello Anurag,

    If I understand this correctly you are using Rollbase mailing functionality to send email from your domain (hosted on bluehost). Can you please confirm your from email address or the domain from which you are sending the email?
