We have a customer who is requesting a new authentication option with the DB2 Wire Protocol ODBC Driver.  I paraphrase their request below:

We have been exploring options with regard to our Mainframe DB passwords expiring. When the passwords expire on the mainframe we need to take an outage on our ODBC applications to reset the password. We are looking to see if the DB2 Wire Protocol driver has the ability to use an x.509 certificate to handle our authentication handshake between our ODBC app and the back end DB2 for Z database. This would be used as opposed to our generic login/password settings we currently use, and save us the outage required to change the passwords in the application.
