OpenEdge 10.2A features the ability to create Microsoft .NET based user interfaces. The ability to "bind" ABL data sources such as database queries and temp-tables is a key feature of that release. The Visual Designer requires an XML schema file to enable the setting of data binding properties using the property sheets.

We have created a little tool that let's you easiely create the XML schema representation of all connected database tables. The tool can be downloaded for free at this link:

The tool itself uses a .NET UI written fully in Progress OpenEdge 10.2A. The tool currently uses an UI based on Infragistics Controls (aka OpenEdge Ultra Controls). We are working right now on a version of the tools that works with standard Microsoft controls as well.
