Pre-authentication filter in REST Web applications

  • In the documentation of OE11.5, there's a paragraph about "Pre-authentication".  I'm using 11.3.

Would it be possible to use this 11.5 class (com.progress.rest.security.OERequestHeaderAuthenticationFilter) in 11.3?

I mean: it's not some new OpendEdge function. It's just an extra java-class for Tomcat(stored in RestOE.jar). We've just upgraded all our customers to 11.3, and another upgrade is not an option.

  • The pre-authentication filter was added in 11.4 onwards. This functionality was not there in 11.3

  • Ok.

11.4. But my question remains the same :-)

Can I use this class in 11.3? To be clear: can I copy this jar file from 11.4 into 11.3?

I guess I'll just have to try & see

  • Yes, I believe you can.
