Attention Requested: Important Notification
The Progress OpenEdge team recently discovered three issues in the newly released service pack, Progress OpenEdge 11.7.3, that do not meet our quality standards. We have made the decision to halt the availability of the service pack download until these issues are addressed and it delivers the quality our customers expect.
If you have already downloaded OpenEdge 11.7.3 and have run into issues, we recommend that you implement the proposed solutions (if available). You may also prefer to wait until the updated installation kit is available. Those of you that have downloaded the OpenEdge 11.7.3 60-day evaluation may wish to wait until an updated evaluation is available before exploring the product.
The three issues and the available workarounds are:
- PSC00365336 – After installing 11.7.3, some Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge (PDSOE) users will not see their PDSOE preferences and features. Most users experiencing this problem will be able to resolve this by starting PDSOE using the -clean option. In cases where -clean does not resolve the problem, re-installing the plugin using the following command from a proenv shell may be necessary:
proenv>%DLC%\oeide\integrateArchitect.bat -update
- PSC00365101 – During installation of Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge, customers will sporadically be unable to locate plugins to install. There is a documented workaround in the Release Notes (run a batch process manually).
- PSC00365319 – Users may discover a broken CGI Messenger after upgrading to OpenEdge 11.7.3.
The error message received will be:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
There is no known workaround at this time.
More information, once available, will be provided via a Product Alert and be posted to Progress Knowledge Base.
