Resolution
In versions prior to OpenEdge 11, it is not possible to uninstall one product from a multi-product installation.
  • Run the uninstall utility to remove all products and reinstall the products needed.
  • Alternatively, install the needed licenses on a separate machine, stop all running Progress components/executables and replace the 'progress.cfg' file on the production machine.
In OpenEdge 11 and later, the License Update utility provides an option to Remove a product license.

Note, the utility only updates the license file (progress.cfg).  It does not remove the product files associated with the license being removed.  These files will remain in the installation.

  • On UNIX / Linux:
Use $DLC/proupdt to either update the expired license with a valid license or remove a product license
  • On Windows:
Run the "License Update" icon from the Progress icon group or run: C:\prgs\115\setup.exe -u

Use License Update to remove an installed product license
