Client Networking must be purchased for any system which requires remote stand-alone client (ABL, SQL, JDBC) connectivity to a database.
While the functionality of Client Networking may be embedded in other licensed packages such as 4GL Development, OE Studio, WebSpeed, AppServer licenses it is not the same license. However, since the functionality of Client Networking is part of these licenses it does not need to be added to the existing install if one those products are already installed.
Once the required Client Networking license has been ordered through your Progress Account Manager, it can be downloaded from the Progress Electronic Download Center (ESD). |
