A transaction state of "DEAD" means that a transaction has completed -- could have been committed or rolled back, but its transaction table entry has not been removed yet.
The existence of a lock in the purge chain tells us that the transaction performed a record delete.
Starting in OpenEdge 10.1x these locks are no longer removed at transaction end.
Locks on the purge chain do not cause lock conflicts (NOLK lock flag) and are removed only when the user disconnects from the database.
