The following command can be used to download the proinventory tool from the command line on a Windows machine:

bitsadmin /transfer downloadProinventory /download /priority normal http://download.progress.com/open/proinventory/proinv20/proinv20_nt.zip c:\proinv20_nt.zip
  • The '_proinventory.exe' utility is included in OpenEdge installations of version 11.2 and higher.
  • BITSAdmin is deprecated since Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 and is not guaranteed to be available in future versions of Windows where it has superceeded by the PowerShell BITS cmdlets.
