The following applies to current installs with licenses that include the AdminService.
To add or remove an AdminServer service, start a PROENV shell with Local Administrator rights ("Run as Administrator")
** Starting with OpenEdge 11.5, functionality to allow the co-existence of 32bit and 64bit OpenEdge installs on the same Windows machine was implemented. Due to the implementation of this new feature, the parameters for admsrvc.exe have changed.
Prior to 11.5, the following commands install and remove the OpenEdge AdminService:
proenv> admsrvc /install (Installs service named "AdminService for OpenEdge <version>") proenv> admsrvc /remove (Removes a service named "AdminService for OpenEdge <version>")
For version 11.5 and later, the following commands are used to install and remove a service depending on whether a 32 bit or 64 bit product is installed.
proenv> admsrvc /install (Installs service named "AdminService for OpenEdge <version> (64-bit)") proenv> admsrvc /install64bit (Installs a service named "AdminService for OpenEdge <version> (64-bit)") proenv> admsrvc /install32bit (Installs a service named "AdminService for OpenEdge <version> (32-bit)")

*When removing services, refresh or close/open the Windows Services window to ensure the Adminserver service has been removed. In some environments, a Reboot may be necessary. |
