Is there a way to send an email alert when a service is automatically restarted
We have a windows service we want to restart automatically. Is there a way though to be emailed when this happens so we are notified of it?
Recapping/Rephrasing Jason's earlier comment. Your action policy can include email actions, but also include the steps requires to restart the service. The service will need to be created as an NT service monitor.
@Brian Manzel To do this, I would recommend making a NT Service *without* automatically restart set. Then, you can tie the service restart and e-mail actions to the monitor itself as need be. You would just have the e-mail be in the action policy first, followed by the stop/start of the service.
