Code using PUT-BYTES() to assign hexadecimal values using the output from HEX-DECODE() leaks memory resulting in errors 12118 4398 
memory leak using PUT-BYTES() eventually crashes with error 12118

Running the following code in a loop using the using PUT-BYTES output from the HEX-DECODE function leaks memory:

Using the OCTAL value instead of the output from HEX-DECODE() in a loop also leaks memory eventually resulting in error 12118:

/ using the  octal for the value :
PUT-STRING(mVar1, 1, {&xiTheBlockSize}) = FILL("~134", {&xiTheBlockSize}). 
PUT-STRING(mVar2, 1, {&xiTheBlockSize}) = FILL("~066", {&xiTheBlockSize}).

The code above is contained in a method in a .cls file.
The method in which the code (above) is contained is called multiple times by a .p file after instantiating the class.

 

PUT-BYTES() is taking a temporary MEMPTR returned by HEX-DECODE() but is not freeing the temporary MEMPTR.

Upgrade to OpenEdge 11.7.0 where PUT-BYTES() was fixed to free temp memptrs (and longchars)

Other functions that take memptrs also have the same issue, not freeing a temp memptr. In addition to PUT-BYTES, this fix includes fixes for:

• GET-* functions, PUT-STRING, COPY-LOB, EXPORT and WRITE() to free temp memptrs and longchars.
