Using the attached scripts a command like 'parseConmgrProperties' (under Windows) or './parseConmgrProperties.sh' (under Linux/Unix) will then show an output like:

When specifying a specific conmgr.properties file with a command like:
parseConmgrProperties C:\someDirectory\someConmgr.propertiesFile
then the specified conmgr.properties file will be parsed instead.

For OpenEdge replication databases, to know if a database need to be started with '-DBService replserv' (source database) or '-DBService replagent' (target database) a command 'proutil databaseName -C describe' is executed by the python script against each database listed in the conmgr.properties file.
This 'proutil databaseName -C describe' command will only work if the parseConmgrProperties command is executed from an OpenEdge proenv session and the proenv version used is from the same OpenEdge version used by the database. (the proutil command will otherwise just fail silently)

Under Linux python is often already installed and in the $PATH, under Windows the script parseConmgrProperties.bat will often need to be edited so that in the line:
python.exe parseConmgrProperties.py %*
the complete path to the python.exe is mentioned like this:
C:\Users\someUser\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python35-32\python.exe parseConmgrProperties.py %*
