Images uploaded through a Sitefinity site hosted in an AWS China region are not displaying. Visitors see broken image icons instead of content.

The S3 blob storage provider is configured with the China region CNNorthWest1 (Ningxia) endpoint (e.g., my-bucket.s3.cn-northwest-1.amazonaws.com.cn), and the "Test settings" validation confirms a successful connection. However, when images are uploaded, Sitefinity generates image URLs using the global AWS domain (e.g., my-bucket.s3.amazonaws.com) instead of the configured China-specific domain. Visiting the generated image URL returns a "NoSuchBucket" error because the bucket does not exist in the global AWS partition.

The "Url Scheme" field in the Sitefinity Amazon S3 storage provider settings is intended only for specifying the URL protocol (http or https). It is not designed to accept a full AWS endpoint URL. Sitefinity's S3 provider constructs media URLs using the standard global AWS URL format (bucketname.s3.amazonaws.com), which resolves correctly for global AWS regions but fails for the AWS China partition, which requires the .com.cn domain suffix.

Use the CDN parameter on the S3 blob storage provider to override the generated media base URL with the correct AWS China endpoint.

1. Navigate to Administration > Settings > Advanced > Libraries > Blob storage > Blob storage providers.

2. Expand the node of your China S3 storage provider and click Parameters > Create new.

3. In the Key field, enter: cdn

4. In the Value field, enter the correct AWS China endpoint for your bucket (without the https:// prefix, as the Amazon provider automatically deduces the protocol). Use the appropriate endpoint based on your region:

   • For CNNorth1 (Beijing): my-bucket.s3.cn-north-1.amazonaws.com.cn
   • For CNNorthWest1 (Ningxia): my-bucket.s3.cn-northwest-1.amazonaws.com.cn

Replace "my-bucket" with your actual S3 bucket name.

5. Click Save changes.

6. Restart your Sitefinity CMS application.

After applying this change, Sitefinity will resolve all media URLs for this provider using the specified China S3 endpoint.

Important Notes:

• Any images uploaded before applying this change may still reference the old, incorrect URL. These items may need to be republished for the new URL to take effect.
• The "Url Scheme" field should be left empty or set to "https" only. Do not enter a full URL in this field.
• CNNorth1 (Beijing) is the officially supported China region in Sitefinity's documentation. CNNorthWest1 (Ningxia) is not officially listed but may work with the CDN parameter workaround in place.
• Both AWS China regions use the .amazonaws.com.cn domain suffix, as opposed to global regions which use .amazonaws.com.
