Microsoft is retiring Basic Authentication for Client Submission (SMTP AUTH) in Exchange Online. MOVEit Automation currently uses Basic Auth for SMTP notifications unless configured for anonymous relay. After April 2026, Basic Auth will no longer work for sending emails via Exchange Online. MOVEit Automation version 2025.1 will introduce OAuth support to address this change.
