How to delete records relating to specific source tables from the audit archive database.

The command proutil -C auditarchive archives and can delete from the source db, and proutil -C auditload loads into an archive db. All audit-enabled tables are affected. What therefore can be used with the archive database to delete only those records that relate to specific source tables?

There is no built-in OpenEdge functionality, e.g. with proutil, to selectively purge from the audit archive database any data relating to a specific table in the source database. Selective purging of data for specific tables in the archive database needs to be done via abl or sql that manipulates the audit tables.

For example, one use-case would be if auditing has been disabled for some customer tables in production, and the audit records for those tables are to be removed in the audit archive database while leaving the records for other tables in place. There is no built-in command or option that can be used to remove just those records. Generally, a developer will have to write the relevant procedure(s) to delete the data from the specific tables.

The user running the procedure(s) needs to have the appropriate audit privileges, i.e. they need to have Audit Data Archiver privileges on the archive db.
