How to configure an apache2 reverse proxy on ubuntu 22.04 to redirect the classic webspeed URLs to the new pasoe webspeed URLs

In the previous classic webspeed environment a classic webspeed URL format would be like:
localhost/webAppName/test.w
and the existing classic URLs need to be redirected to the new pasoe webspeed URLs format like:
localhost/webAppName/web/test.w
(having the added /web/ in the pasoe webspeed URLs)

The added /web/ part in the new pasoe URL is used to indicate the pasoe transport mode being used:
What are the PASOE transports?

The following apache2 reverse proxy configuration example is done against a paose instance created using the following steps:

$DLCservers/pasoe/bin/tcman create -f -p 8820 -P 8821 -s 8822 $WRKDIR/oepas2
$WRKDIR/oepas2/bin/tcman.bat feature AJP13=on
$WRKDIR/oepas2/bin/tcman.bat config psc.as.ajp13.port=50000
$WRKDIR/oepas2/bin/tcman deploy -a webAppName $DLCservers/pasoe/extras/oeabl.war

and against a webspeed file created from a test.htm file containing the lines:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML//EN">

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<META NAME="wsoptions" CONTENT="no-output">
<TITLE>Test</TITLE>
</HEAD>

<BODY BGCOLOR="33FF6E">
<CENTER>
<P><STRONG>SpeedScript test</STRONG><BR><BR></P>

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="SpeedScript">

{&OUT}
"<B>TEST WEBSPEED</B><BR><BR>".

</SCRIPT>

</BODY>
</HTML>

that is then compiled using the following 4GL code to a new file test.w :

DEFINE VARIABLE speedfile AS CHARACTER.
DEFINE VARIABLE wsoptions AS CHARACTER.
ASSIGN speedfile = "test.w"
       wsoptions = "".
         RUN tty/webutil/e4gl-gen.r
               (INPUT "test.htm",
                INPUT-OUTPUT speedfile,
                INPUT-OUTPUT wsoptions).

the generated file test.w is then copied to the pasoe instance location:
$WRKDIR/oepas2/webapps/webAppName/WEB-INF/openedge/test.w

The apache2 web server and its needed mod-jk apache2 module can be installed and activated using the commands:

sudo apt-get install apache2
sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-jk
sudo a2enmod rewrite
sudo systemctl restart apache2

The file
/etc/apache2/sites-available/000-default.conf
is then edited to something like:

<VirtualHost *:80>
        DocumentRoot /var/www/html
        RewriteEngine On
        RewriteCond "%{REQUEST_URI}" /webAppName/
        RewriteCond "%{REQUEST_URI}" !/webAppName/web/
        RewriteRule ^/webAppName/(.*) /webAppName/web/$1  [PT,L]
        ServerName localhost
        <Directory "/var/www">
        Options +Indexes +Includes +FollowSymLinks +MultiViews
        AllowOverride All
        Require local
        </Directory>
        ProxyPass "/" ajp://localhost:8009/ secret=AJPSECRET
        ProxyPassReverse "/" ajp://localhost:8009/
        ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log
        CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined
</VirtualHost>

In the pasoe configuration file $WRKDIR/oepas2/conf/catalina.properties the 2 properties:

psc.as.ajp13.tomcatauth=false
psc.as.ajp13.address=::

need to be changed to:

psc.as.ajp13.tomcatauth=true
psc.as.ajp13.address=::1

and in the file $WRKDIR/oepas2/conf/server.xml the default settings:

<!-- feature:begin:AJP13:off
    <Connector executor="tomcatThreadPool"
               port="${psc.as.ajp13.port}"
               protocol="AJP/1.3"
               address="${psc.as.ajp13.address}"
               asyncTimeout="${psc.as.msg.timeout}"
               maxPostSize="${psc.as.msg.maxpostsize}"
               acceptCount="${psc.as.http.maxqueuesize}"
               maxConnections="${psc.as.http.maxconnections}"
               tomcatAuthentication="${psc.as.ajp13.tomcatauth}"
               redirectPort="${psc.as.https.port}"
               URIEncoding="${psc.as.http.uriencoding}" />
    feature:end:AJP13:off -->

then need to be changed to something like:

<!-- feature:begin:AJP13:on -->
    <Connector executor="tomcatThreadPool"
               port="8009"
               protocol="AJP/1.3"
               address="0.0.0.0"
               asyncTimeout="${psc.as.msg.timeout}"
               maxPostSize="${psc.as.msg.maxpostsize}"
               acceptCount="${psc.as.http.maxqueuesize}"
               maxConnections="${psc.as.http.maxconnections}"
               tomcatAuthentication="false"
               redirectPort="8443"
               URIEncoding="${psc.as.http.uriencoding}"
               secretRequired="true"
               secret="AJPSECRET"  />
<!-- feature:end:AJP13:on -->

Once the configuration changes done start the pasoe instance using the command:
$WRKDIR/oepas2/bin/tcman.bat start

and restart apache2 using the command:
sudo systemctl restart apache2

The pasoe direct tomcat URL:
localhost:8820/webAppName/web/test.w
should now show a green web page with the 2 lines:
SpeedScript test
TEST WEBSPEED
and the following 2 URLs web pages should now show the same output:
localhost/webAppName/web/test.w
localhost/webAppName/test.w
indicating that the apache2 reverse proxy configuration is working correctly.
