Question/Problem Description

When copy-pasting paragraphs with different font sizes, after further text editing in the Admin App, some paragraphs are added tag and appear smaller than the rest of the paragraphs.
When deleting a new line in the Rich Text Editor in the Admin App, tag is added in the HTML.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a word file with paragraphs with different sizes 2. Create a new news item 3. Copy-paste the text 4. At the end of each paragraph, delete the whitespace so that the following paragraph gets concatenated to the current one. (optional) Then press "Enter" to create a new paragraph 5. Save the item (or see the HTML view) Some paragraphs appear with a smaller font than others, with tag 1. In the MVC Content Block widget write or paste some text 2. Insert a line break by pressing Enter to move part of the text on a new line. 3. Delete the new line 4. Open the HTML view tag appears at the place of the break line.

Bug 259719

Enhancement Number

Cause

This is caused by a bug in Sitefinity. For more information about Bug 259719, see https://feedback.telerik.com/Project/153/Feedback/Details/259719

Resolution

None at this time.

Workaround

For versions 11.2 and higher:
1. Navigate to %project-root% > AdminApp > config.json
2. Set the serialization semantic property to true

"serialization": {
          "semantic": true
}

For versions 11.0.6736.0 versions and higher:
1. Extend the AdminApp using Sitefinity Github, AdminAppExtensions https://github.com/Sitefinity/sitefinity-admin-app-extensions
2. Extend the EditorConfigProvider and set the configuration.serialization.scripts to true

configureEditor(configuration: any): any {
        configuration.serialization.semantic = true;
        return configuration;
    }

For a sample use-case of configureEditor, see some of the sample extensions, such as Sitefinity Github, Word Count Provider https://github.com/Sitefinity/sitefinity-admin-app-extensions/blob/11.0.6736.0/editor-extender/word-count/word-count-provider.ts

Notes

Using the workaround leads to another styling to be applied to the paragraphs:

<span style="background-color:transparent;color:inherit;font-family:inherit;font-size:inherit;text-align:inherit;text-transform:inherit;white-space:inherit;word-spacing:normal;caret-color:auto;">
