In a browser when writing an application in javascript, the application might have the occasion to access a dataset in a jsdo object. The application might want to access that dataset and pass it as the parameter in a call to an invoke method of a business entity. It is documented that jsdo.getData() supports datasets containing one temp-table or just a temp-table. jsdo.getData() can not access datasets containing more than one temp-table. This is expected behavior.

According to https://documentation.progress.com/output/pdo/index.html#page/pdo/getdata(-)-method.html the dataset of a jsdo can only have one table reference. jsdo references with more than one table are not supported.

Resolution

None at this time.

Workaround

Use the following steps for accessing a multi-table dataset in jsdo memory:

1) Save the jsdo memory object to local storage.
jsdo.saveLocal("myData");
2) Use the saved storage to create the dataset.
myObject = JSON.parse(localStorage.getItem("myData"));
myObject can then be passed as a data to the invoke method.

jsdo.invoke("<method name>",
{
<parameter1 name on backend>: <object name created from JSON.parse call>,
<parameter2 name on backend>: myObject
}).done (function(jsdo, success, request) {
/* process data returned from back end */
}).fail(function(jsdo, success, request) {
/* report the failure */
});
