Supported Features in the Web Admin COMMANDS Menu

At the top right of the Web Admin window, click COMMANDS and make a selection.

The command is executed immediately.

The commands that appear in your menu depend on your permissions and configuration.

Sends the current configuration that MOVEit Central Admin is working with to the MOVEit Central server to which it is connected.

Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl-S.

When MOVEit Central receives this configuration, it writes it to disk for storage and then implements.

Use of this command is rare. MOVEit Central Admin automatically performs this activity as needed, as part of its normal operation.

Refresh config
   
Updates the user's configuration to the most recent configuration that is stored in and being used by MOVEit Central.

Use of this command is rare. MOVEit Central Admin automatically performs this activity as needed, as part of its normal operation.

Import config -
   
Takes an exported XML config file and reads it back into the system. Can be used to reinstall a backed-up configuration.

Export config -
    

Writes a copy of the XML config file that is currently loaded into MOVEit Central Admin. This command can be used to back up configurations.

Disable Scheduler
    

Disables the MOVEit Central task scheduler.

Results:

    No tasks are automatically started.
    Tasks that are already running are run to completion.
    Tasks can be manually started by MOVEit Central Admin or API.

If MOVEit Central is restarted, the Scheduler is automatically restarted.

To start the MOVEit Central service with the scheduler disabled, start MOVEit Central from the command line, using the -k option. For more information, see Running MOVEit Central in the Foreground, Not As a Service.

Enable Scheduler

Enables the task scheduler.

Shut down service
    

Disables the MOVEit Central task scheduler.

Waits until no tasks are running, and then stops the MOVEit Central service. A Host Disconnected message appears.

Recommended: This command is the preferred method to cleanly shut down MOVEit Central. Stopping the service through the control panel or command line interface abruptly terminates any tasks that are running.

Note: Tasks that are launched ("looped") using Next Actions might have to be shut down individually on the TASK STATUS page, because such tasks are not launched from the scheduler. For more information, see TASK STATUS.

Test antivirus
    

Causes MOVEit Central to deposit a file that has a *.tmp extension with a test virus signature (the EICAR test string) into the MOVEit Central cache directory. The test file is harmless, but it should be treated by any real-time antivirus package as an actual virus.

If the test is successful, a message appears in MOVEit Central Admin. For example:

Success - AntiVirus test successful. Detected antivirus package 'Symantec AntiVirus'.

Reset tamper detection
    

Resets the MOVEit Central tamper detection mechanism so that it begins tamper checking of audit and statistics entries.

Any previous entries are no longer covered by tamper detection.
