• The original day time and/or night time tasks were deleted and need to be recreated/re-added.
• Where can the daytime and nighttime tasks be found?
• Something appears to have changed with the MOVEit Transfer scheduled tasks causing them to error out. How can they be replaced?
• What can be done if something is causing the daily and nightly scheduled tasks to repeatedly fail? They are not running at all.
• The scheduled tasks for MOVEit Transfer are not running, and making changes to them has not resolved the issue.

If the tasks are not running due to the Scheduler being disabled in the MOVEit Transfer Config Utility > Status tab, try the resolution steps in the following article:
Scheduler disabled in MOVEit Transfer Config utility and will not start

If that does not resolve the issue or if the original scheduled tasks were deleted, open a case with MOVEit Support.

To import the scheduled tasks files, do the following:

1. If you have another server with working scheduled tasks which is on the same version as the problematic server, export them by going to Task Scheduler > Task Scheduler Library > right click on the MOVEitDayTimeTask and MOVEitNightlyTask > Export
   1.
2. Alternatively, open a case with MOVEit Technical Support to get replacement scheduled tasks for your version.
3. Get a backup/snapshot of the MOVEit Transfer server, database, file store, etc. and have a rollback plan per organization policy just in case. The scheduled tasks are critical to the maintenance of MOVEit Transfer, so if something goes awry, rollback considerations are necessary.
4. Open the Windows Task Scheduler.
5. Navigate to the Task Scheduler Library.
6. Retain backups of the old tasks if they are still present. To do so, right click on each one (MOVEitDayTimeTask and MOVEitNightlyTask), then click Export. Decide where to save them off.
7. Delete the old tasks from the Task Scheduler Library if they are still present (right click > Delete).
8. Move the XML files provided by MOVEit Support within it to the MOVEit Transfer server, and keep the default task names the same so that the Scheduler can recognize them (otherwise the Scheduler will be disabled in the MOVEit Transfer Config Utility).
9. In the Task Scheduler Library, import each new task. Right click within the window > Import Task... (or select the Import Task... action on the right).
   •
10. Select the task to import > click Open.
11. On the General tab for each task, click the "Change User or Group" option to update the user account being used to run the task to an account that has local admin rights on the MOVEit Transfer server. This should generally be the same as the MOVEit Transfer service user. Click OK, which will cause Task Scheduler to prompt for the username/password for the task.
12. On the Actions tab for each task, select the "Start a program" action > click Edit..., then ensure that the settings are pointing to the correct paths and drive for the MOVEit Transfer installation (the default values are shown in the screenshot below).
    •
13. Make sure that the tasks show as Ready (if not, right click on the task > click Enable).
14. Check to ensure the Scheduler is enabled in the MOVEit Transfer Config Utility > Status tab.
15. Monitor to ensure the tasks run as expected.
