Question/Problem Description

Application is made up of a large project. The project has many class files. Some of the class files have been relocated from one directory to another. In a statement such as:

DEFINE VARIABLE myVar AS myClass.

Where myClass is the name of a class. By hovering over the myClass after the AS statement and clicking control-space PDS for OpenEdge is supposed to show locations where that class is located. After relocating classes to different folders, sometimes clicking control-space (content assist) shows class files located in folders from which they have been removed. Other times the class is shown to be located in both the old folder and the new one.

Steps to Reproduce

Clarifying Information

Project is quite large and made up of many class files.
Class files have been moved from one folder to another.
Sometimes, in the folder from which the class was moved, an r-code files remains in that "from" folder.

The exact cause is not known at this time.

Resolution

None at this time.

"The fix for this issue is expected to be in the upcoming release 12.0.0. As of 3/14/2018, release 12.0.0 is scheduled to be released in in the second half of 2018, although dates and content of the release are subject to change."

Workaround

It is possible that the following will address the issue:

1. Check folder from which a class was moved. If any r-code files remain, in the "from" folder, delete the r-code files.
2. Close PDSOE if opened
3. Go to location $WORKSPACE\.metadata\.plugins\com.openedge.pdt.project\
4. Delete all the *.index files
5. Start PDSOE and wait for the initialize tooling to complete.
