Question/Problem Description

Agent or Session details cannot be accessed from the OEE/OEM Browser when a PAS instance is created with security credentials: -m option in pasman/tcman
OpenEdge Management oemanager webapp cannot access PASOE Agent and Session details when the PAS instance manager default username/password is changed

Steps to Reproduce

1. create a new PASOE instance proenv> pasman create -f -Z dev -v -p 11710 -P 11711 -s 11712 -m admin:admin2 newpasoe 2. open OpenEdge Explorer in a webrowser Example URL: http://localhost:9090 3. Go to newpasoe resource 4. Click on the ROOT link - All Agent and Session details links are not active

This is expected behavior when using -m parameter with pasman/tcman:

-m <uid:pwd>] use these credentials for container security

The new instance will use a non default login and password for oemanager access.
This -m option only affects the created PAS instance and does not alter the default username/password (tomcat/tomcat) used by OpenEdge Management manager webapps when the instance is registered.

When changing the default credentials to secure PAS instance, both the “OpenEdge Manager” and “Tomcat Manager” login and password fields be updated.

This is because the tcman/pasman -m option, alters the Tomcat container’s default username and password, which affects both of these manager webapps.

Update the OpenEdge manager login and password in OpenEdge Explorer/ OpenEdge Management:

1. In the Resources page, select the new pasoe instance
2. Go to Configuration page.

Change OpenEdge manager login ( admin, in this example)
Change OpenEdge manager password ( admin2, in this example)
Click Save button at the top
Click "Test Connection" button at the bottom:

"Status: Test connection passed successfully"

The OpenEdge Manager user (oemanager) is not the same user as the user credentials used for OpenEdge Management to access the OEE or OEM Console. The following article provides further clarification:
