After importing page templates, some of the imported page templates are not shown in the page templates dialog when creating pages. The templates are visible in the "Page templates" page.

Question/Problem Description

After importing page templates, some of the imported page templates are not shown in the page templates dialog when creating pages. The templates are visible in the "Page templates" page.

Cause

The page template is associated with a non-existing category.

Resolution

1. Check the category id of the page template:

SELECT category
FROM sf_page_templates
WHERE title_ = '<title of page template>'

2. Check the category that is associated to the page template:

SELECT *
FROM sf_taxa
WHERE id = '<category value from first query>'

If the above query does not return any results or the category is not associated to page templates, perform the steps below:

3. Get the desired page template category by checking the category id for one of the templates that is shown:

SELECT category
FROM sf_page_templates
WHERE title_ = '<title of page template that is displayed in the page templates dialog>'

4. Verify that the category is the correct one:

SELECT *
FROM sf_taxa
WHERE id = '<id from category column>'

5. After confirming the above step, update the category for the problematic page template by executing the following query:

UPDATE sf_page_templates
SET category = '<the id of the category>'
WHERE title_ = '<title of problematic page template>'

NOTE: Ensure to perform the above steps on a backup of the project and after verifying that the page template is displayed, apply the same changes on the rest of the environments
